4. WILL THERE BE PARKING AT THE STATIONS? Won’t people be driving through Cheviot Hills
to “park and ride”?
There are two types of stations for Expo: Gateway and Neighborhood.
Gateway Stations. Gateway
Stations are stations located near major destinations along the alignment. These stations anticipate high
boardings, have a great deal of parking, and may include extensive pedestrian
linkages within the station vicinity to major destinations nearby. Gateway Stations are visible to and from
major destinations. These stations may
present opportunities for air rights development over the station. Robertson & Venice – a gateway to Culver
City, Century City and Beverly Hills – will be a Gateway Station. Robertson is.
Neighborhood Stations. Neighborhood Stations are smaller scaled
stations located in smaller neighborhoods along the alignment. There is little if any parking at such
stations. Air rights development over
Neighborhood Stations and Guideway is generally not anticipated. This will preserve existing views and open
space around the station. Pedestrian
linkages would typically include enhancements to a station site area. Bicycle parking is also common.

1, Final EIR/EIS 2.4-33. See Design Concepts
for Phase 1.)

preparation of its Draft EIR/S – north and south of the Expo line west of

the kind of station that is proposed should be
